This article gives information about how HSE Schools student accounts work, including password formats.
📘 Grades K-4
Student passwords for these grades are in the following format:
hse123456
where all letters are lowercase, followed by the student’s ID number (also called a lunch number).
📘 Grades 5-12
Beginning in grade 5, student passwords change and begin with a capital ‘H.’ Everything else about the format remains the same.
Student passwords in grades K-6 cannot be changed.
📘 Other Information
The same student account has many uses, including (but not limited to) the following:
Logging into HSE computers, including desktop computers in computer labs and other classrooms
Logging into Canvas
Logging into Clever
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Authenticating with our internet filter, Securly
You may see references on various websites and apps to log in with ‘Active Directory' or 'AD,’ ‘Azure,' or ‘Azure AD.' These are different systems used by HSE Schools to maintain staff and student accounts. If a site offers the option to log in using one of those methods, it refers to the accounts outlined above.
📘 Skyward
Skyward does NOT use the same account system outlined above. While it is possible that login names and passwords may be similar or the same as those referenced above, it is important to check with a building registrar or guidance office, or a building tech to clarify Skyward login credentials.
