This article explains how our device management deploys apps to student devices and how a teacher can request new apps to be made available to students.

\uD83D\uDCD8 Standard apps

All HSE-issued iPads (meaning staff devices and student rental devices) are configured with a standard assortment of apps. Some examples of these are:

  • Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, Teams)

  • Clever

  • Canvas

  • Manager (by Mosyle)

Staff and students can download additional apps by using Manager (published by Mosyle).

  • Manager is part of our software management platform, and deployed automatically to all iPads.

  • It contains all the apps that have already been approved by the district for use in our schools.

  • Any app within Manager can be downloaded by simply pressing the ‘(Re)install/Update’ button. No further account or password is needed.

Highlight important information in a panel like this one. To edit this panel's color or style, select one of the options in the menu.

Teachers can view approved apps and request additional apps to be added to Manager, by visiting the following link:

iPad App Request Portal (hseschools.org)

  • The request will be approved automatically if it has been used elsewhere in the district. For example, available apps are based on building--if an app shows as being not available, it will automatically be approved if it has been approved at any other point elsewhere in the district.

  • Once approved, allow 1-2 days for apps to become available in Manager.

  • For apps that have never been requested before, they will be manually reviewed. Please allow additional time for this process.
