Understanding and Using HSE Wi-Fi
This article explains what Wi-Fi networks exist within HSE district buildings, what their individual roles are, and how to connect to them.
Instructions
HSE Schools operates multiple wireless internet networks that each exist for a specific purpose. There is are two networks that staff, students, and guests will use:
HSE-GUEST (Personal devices)
HSE-CORP (HSE Owned devices only)
HSE-CORP
This network is likely the most familiar--it is for all district teachers, students, and staff to be able to connect to the internet using their district-issued credentials. It will work for any staff laptop or student iPad, as well as many personal devices.
When logging into HSE-CORP, please use your HSE ‘username' only. This means the first part of your email address, stopping before the ‘at’ sign (@). Then use your usual HSE district password.
MacBook Users: Enter entire email address for the username (example@hse.k12.in.us).
HSE-GUEST
This network exists primarily for those attempting to connect personal devices or visiting our buildings on a temporary basis to access the internet (contains some security restrictions). Staff and students should never connect to this network under normal circumstances. Staff members or students who cannot connect HSE owned devices to HSE-CORP because of a problem with their account should work with building techs to resolve the account issue--do not use HSE-GUEST as a substitute.
Connecting HSE-Owned devices to HSE-GUEST may operate partially when used by students and staff but is not advised. Connection will not allow the usual level of access staff and students are used to within our district or access to printers. Please ‘forget’ this wireless network on your HSE owned device’s settings if it has been connected in the past.
Non-HSE Employees: While requesting access to the internet via HSE-GUEST, you will be prompted to input the email of the HSE staff member sponsoring your guest account. HSE-GUEST | Connecting Cellphones/Personal Devices - HSE Knowledge Base - Confluence
